Pumpkin Carving Then and Now

My parents came in this weekend to hang out and participate in our traditional pumpkin carving. Every year, we try to get together with my brothers and sister n law and the kiddos to carve pumpkins the week before Halloween and then we all go trick or treating together on Halloween. I love hanging out with my family and we always have such a great time. So, on Saturday we went to the little pumpkin patch that is located at a church down the street from our house to pick out our pumpkins to carve and then we came back to the house and began the process. This is Joshua's 2nd time to help carve pumpkins, so I thought it would be neat to go back in time and compare last year and now. There is a great difference in the pics...it is amazing how much one changes in a year, especially kiddos! Enjoy the flashback!

Aubrey Day!

This precious baby gets her very own blog entry!! Joshua and I took a little road trip to Dallas at the beginning of the week to hang and help out with big sister Maddie and wait for the arrival of Ms. Aubrey Jean Madl. She finally arrived on Wed., afternoon weighing in at 7lbs. 1 oz. and was 19 1/4in long. She is so sweet and precious. Brittney and the baby are both doing marvelous. Maddie is one happy BIG SISTER!!! She kept saying "Aubrey is out, Aubrey is out, can't go back in the tummy!" She did such a great job waiting all morning into the afternoon for Aubrey. Joshua decided that it would be best if he went and hung out with his Mimi for the day and he had such blast getting to see his cousin Kaden, Mimi, Papa, Uncle Nic, and Aunt Lisa. Maddie was excited about seeing and hanging out with Joshua. She is going to be a great big sister, because she was so good with Joshua. I am so happy for the Madl Family!! They have 2 beautiful daughters and are a HAPPY family of FOUR!! I have posted some pics below to oooo and awwww over! Isn't she so sweet????

Our Weekend in a Nutshell...

My very good friend, Kristy and her boys came to visit us this weekend. We had such a great time just hanging out and watching the Texas/OU game and doing some fun things around Austin. Friday night, we went and ate mexican food at Trudy's and it was really good. Kristy and I both love mexican food, so when we get together that is usually a must have. Saturday, we hung out and watched Texas beat OU. Now that was a very nerve racking, ugly game, but Texas beat OU 16 to 13...it was close. After the game, we went to Zilker Park to let the boys ride the train and play on the play scape. It was such an awesome weekend to be outside, so we made the best of it. The boys had a great time riding the train and playing at the park. Our weekend was so much fun that I had to put it in TWO separate post...so scroll down to see how the rest of our weekend went...

Uncle Chad and Joshua showing some luv for UT!!
This is how intense this game was...I don't know if he is yelling or crying at the TV

Oh No, I can't watch....this game is too much.

This is Joshua on the train, saying" Oh, Oh, Oh!!"

Our Weekend in a Nutshell...Day 2

On Day 2 of our weekend we had a lazy morning just hanging around and Dan cooked french toast for breakfast, it was really yummy! After breakfast we all got dressed and headed to Temple to a farm that does a pumpkin festival in October and sells Christmas trees in December. The boys had a really good time going on a hay ride, playing in the hay, petting and feeding the animals and looking at all the pumpkins. It was a great way to end the weekend. I am so glad that Kristy was able to come for a visit. It is always nice to visit and just hang out like we used too. Thanks for coming Kristy, Jordan and Connor, we had a great time and hope to see you soon.

Now I Know Why Photographers Charge So Much...

These pictures speak for themselves, but I do understand why children photographers charge so much and it really takes a special person. All we wanted was 3 cute little boys to take one quick picture...

Bust a Move!

Joshua still loves music and still loves to shake his booty every chance he gets. This video is from about a month ago, but you can certainly tell that he has "skills". His cousin Cambell has quite the "moves" as well. To see her "moves" click on "cooks love kisses" link on my page. I seriously think these two movers and shakers could take all in a baby dance off! Enjoy!

Mimi comes to Visit

This past weekend Mimi came to visit us. We had a good time and Joshua had a great time playing and watching the UT game with Mimi. While we were waiting on Mimi to get here on Saturday morning, we went to the park to slide and play with bubbles. It was a fun time had by all. We are so glad that Mimi was able to come and visit us. It was fun to be able to play and hang out with her. Thanks for the visit Mimi!

Bye-Bye Highchair, Hello Booster Seat!

Heeelllooo again, it's me! You know the little man that keeps getting told that I am growing up waaay too fast. Well, you can say it all you want, but it isn't going to slow down anytime soon and I have another milestone to prove it. For the past week or so I have been really hinting to Mommy and Daddy that I am not really loving my highchair anymore. I have thrown fits when I have been put in it and to make it a little more clear I point to the table and chairs where they sit. Well, they thought they could fool me by taking off my tray from the highchair and pushing me up to the table to where I would eat off the table like they do. But, I am smarter than they think, well to be honest they did fool me for a week or so, but today, I was done! I made up my mind that I would not sit in that highchair. So, I did what any normal toddler would do and gave them my best "fit". I mean back arching, kicking and screaming( I told you that I can throw a fit with the best of them). Daddy asked me what I wanted and we went everywhere in the kitchen but the table, he wasn't quite sure what I was asking for, even though I kept pointing towards the table. I think I frustrated him a little, but I had to get my point across. Finally, he asked if I wanted to sit at the table and in my most pathetic voice, I said "yea". Well, I don't have a booster seat at this point, so they sit me on the chair and give me my snack(banana and Cheerios), and I can barely see over the table, but I am a happy camper and I am loving this. So, Mommy and Daddy decided that it was time to go get a booster seat. After a very long search and one return, I had my seat. I used it at my afternoon snack time and at dinner. I was on cloud nine!!! It was so cool to eat right there with Mommy and Daddy! I even ate all my dinner and didn't even throw my food or cup! Mommy and Daddy were very proud of me. It was awesome! Poor Mommy, she didn't show it but I could tell that she was sad even though she was so proud of me. She isn't really liking this whole "me growing up"thing, but she loves how I light up when I accomplish something new! I am such a big boy, when I was done with dinner, I wiped my face and hands and signed "finished" to let Mommy and Daddy know I was done. Well, that is all I have for now, Mommy posted some pics of the journey from the highchair this morning to my new booster seat this afternoon!

Last time in the highchair :(

Dinnertime! Look how happy he is!

Such a big boy using his manners!

Yeah Me!!!

I am very proud of Joshua and how he is taking to this whole booster seat idea. I know he feels such a part of the table now. At school he sits in little chairs at little tables, so he hasn't been using a highchair there, so I think he figured, why use one at home if I don't use one at school, makes perfect sense to me!!! We love our big, growing up way too fast, little man!!
