4 Years of Pumpkins!

I know I have done this post for the last 4 years! But, I am going to do it again, because 1. It's my blog and I want to and 2. I know you all secretly want to see the progression of how much Joshua has grown!! His costumes have changed and so has the little boy in the picture with his pumpkins! Super crazy how time has flown by. So here you go post for year 4:

10 months (10-31-08) Cutest Puppy ever!!

Picture with the pumpkins 10 months

Handy Manny at yr 2. 10-31-09

Year 2 with the pumpkins!

Year 3 as a train conductor (10-31-10)

Year 3 with the pumkins!

He went from being a puppy at 10 mos to a pirate at 4!! (10-31-11)

Year 4 with the pumpkins!!! Seriously, how cute is this kid?

See, wasn't that fun?

A little note about the pirate costume. He actually wanted to go as himself, but we tried to convince him to be something else. The boy could really care less about dressing up, but in the spirit of things, we thought he should. So when he wouldn't pick out anything, we grabbed the cheapest costume the store had and left. So, that is how his costume choice came about this year! Luckly he was pretty pumped about it today!

A Change

This weekend I decided to change Joshua's room. He has had the same room and decor since he was born and I decided that it needed a big boy touch. I decided on what to do but Dan and I did the projects together. He never complains when I get these wild hairs; he just goes right along and does it ( one of the many things I love about him.) First thing was to remove Joshua's name from above his bed. In place of his name I added art work that he had done at school and home. I kept the "J" for an added effect.

The next thing was to rearrange the rest of the furniture and take some other "baby" things off the walls. We put the train table under the window to make more room when you walk in the door. The little table and chairs is in the corner.

Lastly, we took these storage bins that we got at Ikea a year ago and stacked them on top of each other. They were side by side under the window. Although I didn't change the color scheme or the curtains; the little change that we did, made a world of difference. I still need to make a few more minor changes, but overall I was pleased with the outcome! Joshua loved it and he was so excited about his "new" room! I think he liked the fact that he got to help by picking what art work he wanted to hang! We should be good for a couple more years!!

Nebraska 2011

Last week we went to Nebraska to visit Dan's dad and step mom and the rest of the family. It went by way to fast, but we enjoyed the time that we had with everyone. We did many things while we were there, we went to the children's museum, the zoo, the pumpkin patch and visited with lots and lots of family. We decided to fly this year instead of drive like last year. We found some really decent prices on airfare, so we decided to jump on it. Flying allowed us to spend more time with the family and less time traveling. We were a little nervous about the way Joshua would take to the plane. Even though this would be Joshua's 3rd trip to Nebraska on a plane, we knew the previous two he was too young to really get what was going on, but this time he was old enough. We talked to him about the plane all week and when we got to the airport he was doing pretty well. We tried to make things fun like, we told him that he was to walk through the magic door to get to the other side, which was security. When it was time to board the plane, we told him that we would have to walk thru a magic tunnel to get to the plane, it seemed to work! Joshua had no problems on the flights coming or going, in fact he sat by the window on every flight and loved when we took off and when we landed! Thank goodness! It isn't that we thought Joshua would be bad, he just doesn't like change and gets very nervous of the unknown, so I was for sure this would make him a little upset, but I was wrong! He loved it and was probably one of the highlights of the trip for him. We had so much fun seeing everyone! I have a ton of pictures posted below, so I want make you wait any longer.

On the plane! He really would get so excited when we would take off! He would say,"Here we gooo!"

I had to thrown in this picture from when we took our first trip to Nebraska when Joshua was 7 mos old. We took the exact same picture this time around as well, only Joshua is almost 4 years old. Look below

Amazing!!! We will have to remember to do this each time we go back!

Our plane got delayed on the way home, so we didn't get in until really late. Joshua decided it was time for bed, so he put his blanket over his face to block the light! lol

Joshua in the pumpkin patch!

This picture was taken with my phone! I love this one!

We also got to ride the train while we were at the pumpkin patch! A favorite for all the kids!

Grandpa and Grandma with Joshua

Grandpa with Josh and Kaden roasting hotdogs!

This was one of Joshua's favorite things to do at the pumpkin patch! Feed these darn goats! Seriously we couldn't get him away from them!

All the grandkids in bunnyville! L to R: Josh, Cam, Harper, and Kaden

We also went to the children's museum! This museum is awesome!!

Dancing for Joy at the ball exhibit!

On the top floor of the museum, they had a dinosaur exhibit! Really neat, but the kids didn't like it! Maybe it was a little too much for them.

Joshua got to pet a real penguin! This penguin is about 15 yrs old! Penguins are fuzzy incase you were wondering.

We also saw a baby gorilla at the zoo! Joshua loved watching him. He told me he wanted to take his picture with him.

Harper and Joshua eating breakfast! Harper loved to follow Joshua around, but Joshua didn't really like it! Poor Harper, she just wanted to play!

Classic Joshua move! But still a nice family picture! Joshua puts his fingers in his ears if things are too loud or if he is scared! In this case there was a parrot to the left of us squawking pretty loud!

We had a wonderful time and look forward to next year!!! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for the fun filled week!!!!

Hi my name is Alicia and I am addicted to Pintrest!! Well, it's not that bad but pretty close. This site is filled with any and everything you would want to know or look at. I love it because it is like your own personal storage board for your creative ideas. The best part is you and everyone else in the world can share ideas. Now that I have shared my love for Pintrest, I will tell you a little about how it works. Basically, if you see something you like or want to try you have the option to either repin it or like it. You can also find stuff you like on websites and pin it for others to see. I have gotten so many creative ideas and food receipes from this website. There are always new pins posted so I check the site at least 2 to 3 times a day (usually more). Just wanted to share with the world my love for Pintrest!! Everyone should check it out!! Still Here

We are still here, even though in the blog world it might seem like we fell off the face of the earth! Not a whole lot has happened since my last post or that I felt was blog worthy, so I apoligize for the lack of post.

This past weekend we had our first garage sale and might I say that we will not be doing one for a really, really, long time(if ever). The money that was made did not seem worth it for the effort and planning that was put into it. I guess I expected it to go alot better than it did. I thought we had some really nice things, but maybe it just wasn't other peoples type of stuff. We started at 7, which means we were up at 6am, on a Saturday! YIKES! I am thankful for the little money that we did make and for the wonderful cool front that blew through this weekend. The weather made the waiting outside for customers much more bearable. Today(Sunday) we are just relaxing and gearing up for our trip to Nebraska next Saturday! We are very excited! We were going to drive, like last year, but Dan found some really great prices on place tickets, so we opted to fly instead(probably better for our sanity, ha!). Joshua has flown twice before to Nebraska, but I am really excited because I think this time he will really get it and be excited about the planes and the airport(at least this is what we are hoping for). Don't worry, you will get the full report when we get back. The weather is supposed to be really nice up there, like actual fall weather, so that will be an added bonus. Not much else is happening at the moment, just doing our day to day thing. I will try and get a post in before we leave.

For those of you wondering what Joshua's been up to: He has been battling allergies!! Poor kid, has good days and bad days! I feel so sorry for him, but he is being a trooper through it all! He is still his funny, crazy, self! This morning, around 7:15 he came to our door and knocked really loud. We said, "Come In!" and he swung open the door and shouted, "SURPRISE!" Good thing he is cute!!

Hope everyone has a great week and enjoys this fall like weather!!!
