Thanksgiving Holiday

Although there are not any pictures to prove it, we did have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. We left early Thursday morning and headed to Dallas to be with Dan's family. We have learned our lesson in the past that traveling on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is no bueno! It takes twice as long and who wants to be stuck in a car for that long? Lisa and Nic hosted thanksgiving dinner again and once again they did an outstanding job! They always have the best food! It was all so yummy!! Thanks again for having us Lisa and Nic. You guys out did yourselves again. The rest of the weekend was spent visiting with family and watching the boys play. The kids play so well together. We came home Saturday evening around dinner time. It took a little longer to get home because of traffic, I guess everyone else had the same idea. So, today (Sunday) we decorated the house and put up the tree. I absolutely love this time of year!! Below are some pictures of the day. Joshua didn't quite get in the spirit at first, but eventually he warmed up and joined in. I decided to go low key this year on the outside decorations. Dan was very grateful that he didn't have to get on the roof this year. Joshua has been asking for snow all day! I don't blame him, I would like that too, but at least it was cold, so it felt like it should this time of year!!

We just came in from being outside, he wanted gloves and a scarf.
This boy is serious about wanting some snow!

I have to brag a bit, because I think they turned out great. I, with the help of Dan, made the trees on the side of the door. The things you can do with tomato cages. I can't take credit for the idea, it was Pintrest!

Tradition! Looking up at the lights through the tree! I did the same thing as a kid. He actually remembered from last year on his own!! Love it!

It's All In The Batter

Everyone knows that the best part of baking any cake or cookies is being able to lick the bowl and spoon! Joshua is all about this! It is like he has a radar or something, as soon as I close the oven door, he is right there. He does help sometimes. He is my official stirrer and bowl licker(these are technical terms, ha!) He is really good at both. I have found alot of Receipes that do not require eggs, so I don't have to worry about that. The pictures below are from Saturday, when we made skinny cupcakes! Yes, I said skinny. Only two ingredients; cake mix and sprite zero. The cupcakes came out very moist and delish! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as Joshua enjoyed licking the bowl! Ok, I don't think that is possible, but you can probably get close! :)

Joshua Gives Thanks

It's the month of November so, of course Joshua's school is talking about Thanksgiving. Here is what Joshua told his teacher he was thankful for and why:

Toy Story because it has Buzz Lightyear and Woody

Toys because they are fun

Food because he likes to eat broccoli and chicken nuggets

His tongue because in Joshua's words " it changes color". By this he means when he has a slushie his tongue changes the color of the drink.

Momma and Daddy because they play trains and cars with me. Apparently, the picture with the guy smiling and the girl in rollers is supposed to represent us. Lol

Oh how I love the way his little mind thinks!

Oh The Drama

Joshua has become quite dramatic lately. He seems to think that being dramatic will allow him to get whatever he wants. Ha! He will pretend to fall or trip and then proceed to say that his leg hurts or say, "oh no! I fell down!" Clearly we see that he has done this on purpose, so we simply do one of two things, ignore him or tell him to get up; he is going to be alright. He complains about his belly hurting and when he realizes that is not working to his advantage, he will begin to complain about another body part! The boy is seriously "crying wolf!" He has a fake cry and everything. I guess you have to hand it to him, for being clever, but we have walked that road before and know it doesn't get you too far. Some of the dramatic things he has said lately are:

" Oh no, I'm freaking out! I am freaking out!"

"I need help, my leg hurts and I think I need a booboo(band-aid). (said with a whimper)

"I'm scared, hold me!" (whimper voice) Clearly there is nothing to be scared of, but I will admit, this one I cave on, because I just can't resist holding this boy! Holding him is scarce now a days!

"Shhh! Be quiet! There is a bear and it is about to eat a BIG strawberry!" (think exaggeration)

"Whoa! There goes a silly (city) bus!"

"Whew, that was close!" (as he wipes his forehead )

Joshua is so funny, but can be so serious at the same time. I love my little, drama king!!
